| First flown in 1936, by George Townson, this aircraft could successfully transition from fixed-wing biplane to autogyro configuration. A three view, photos, and history appear in Runway's Model Builders & Their Models. A functional model would require ingenuity, but what a potential crowd- pleaser! The upper wing/rotor could be spun-up to rpm in flight via a rubber motor, and then allowed to autorotate, as did the full-size Vertaplane's. Who will be the first to accept this challenge? |
